Although the photo clearly shows “sublingual” and cherry flavored, these tablets are not sublingual and must be taken 30-60 minutes before going to bed. They are definitely not effective when one desires going to sleep quickly. There are countless other brands that are also not sublingual, and they are available at any mass-market or grocery store as well as in the vitamin section of drug stores like RiteAid and Walgreen’s. You’ll find them at a better price than these, too.
We’ve used the GNC brand of sublingual melatonin for years now, and sublingual is what we want. We feel this product is misrepresented by the photo which should be updated/replaced by one not showing “sublingual” on the bottle.

This is the only chew-able melatonin I’ve found for kids. The liquids out there contain a type of alcohol that children should not have. They are very effective for my 3 year old son, who is autistic.
Additionally, despite what some are saying, they ARE SUBLINGUAL. I put them under my tongue and they dissolve fine. This is the same brand and bottles I’ve been ordering from Amazon for about 9 months now. I’ve had no problems with them.
If you have a child with moderate to severe Autism, I’m not telling you anything you don’t already know.
For those of you who are new to the world of Autism this item is a life saver, especially when your ready for bed but your child is just getting started on their 25th tantrum for the day.
If your child refuses to eat the tablet (as mine often does) you can dissolve it into a 1/2 gallon sized pitcher of Kool-Aid (please remember to mark the pitcher so as not to let your other kids drink from it unless you want to knock them out too.)
As for dose: Our son is 25, is 6′-2″ tall and weighs about 315 Lbs (Chocktaw Indian); one little pill or glass of Kool-Aid does the trick every time. If you have a younger child, I suggest using a pill cutter to cut the pill in half.
